The eyes of the wood pass silent judgment
The song repeats even as the winds turn
A mantric dance to chase demons out the holler
To share a destiny with the worm
Father spilled his seed
Mother barren soil
Children never born
The leveled fields breathe a stale new life
The teeth that were found split open new veins
A new god can see through the twisted roots
These roots were our veins, these roots were our life
